The 10 yard container in Corpus Christi, TX
The 10 yard is about 14 ft long, 7.5 ft wide and 3.5 ft high — roughly the footprint of a compact parking space, low enough to load over the side without a ladder. It holds about 50 to 70 kitchen-size trash bags' worth of debris and is rated for 1 to 2 tons, which covers most single-room cleanouts and small tear-off jobs around Corpus Christi and the wider Coastal Bend.
It's the size we point homeowners to most often for a garage purge, a bathroom gut, or a pile of shingles off a small roof section — jobs where a 20 or 30 yard container would just sit half empty and eat up driveway space you need for parking or contractor trucks.
Capacity
What actually fits in a 10 yard container
Rough working figures. Weight, not volume, is what stops most loads.
| Material | How much fits |
|---|---|
| Single bathroom gut | fits comfortably |
| Small bedroom or closet cleanout | fits comfortably |
| A few hundred square feet of shingle tear-off | fits with room to spare |
| Concrete or dirt from a small patio or walkway | fits — mind the tonnage limit on heavy material |
Suitability
Is the 10 yard the right size for you?
Choose the 10 yard for
- Small home cleanouts (one room, garage, attic, or shed)
- Roofing debris from a small roof section or single-layer tear-off
- Concrete, dirt and paver removal from a small patio or walkway
- Yard waste after a modest trim-out or storm-related limb pickup
- Decluttering ahead of a move or a listing
Pick a different size for
- Whole-house cleanouts or estate cleanouts with multiple rooms
- Full roof tear-offs on an average or larger Corpus Christi home
- Large amounts of concrete, brick or block — tonnage fills fast
- Commercial demolition or new-construction debris
Placing a 10 yard container on a Corpus Christi-area property
Plenty of Southside and Flour Bluff lots have narrower drive approaches than you'd think, and the 10 yard's compact length makes it the easiest size to set on a caliche or crushed-shell driveway without blocking a garage door or a neighbor's access. If your property is on gravel or caliche rather than poured concrete, tell our dispatch team when you book — we'll talk through placement boards and where the truck needs room to swing in off the street.
For infill lots around Robstown, Bishop, Driscoll and Banquete where driveways can be short, the 10 yard is often the only size that leaves room for a second vehicle. During hurricane season (June through November) it's also a practical size for smaller storm cleanup — a few downed limbs and yard debris rather than a full property clear-out, which usually calls for something larger.

10 Yard Dumpster — questions we get asked
How much does a 10 yard dumpster hold?
About 50 to 70 kitchen-size trash bags of debris, with a 1 to 2 ton weight limit. It's built for volume-light, single-project jobs rather than heavy demolition loads.
Will a 10 yard dumpster fit on a narrow Corpus Christi driveway?
In most cases, yes. At about 14 ft long and 7.5 ft wide, it's our most compact container and generally the easiest to place on shorter driveways, caliche or gravel pads, or lots with limited street frontage. Let our dispatch team know your surface and access when you book.
Is a 10 yard big enough for a small roof?
For a single-layer tear-off on a smaller roof section, often yes — but shingles are heavy, so the 1 to 2 ton limit can be the real constraint before the box looks full. For most average Corpus Christi homes we'd point you to a 15 or 20 yard for roofing work instead.
Can I put concrete or dirt in a 10 yard dumpster?
Small amounts are fine, but concrete and dirt are dense — they'll hit the tonnage limit well before the container looks full. For anything beyond a small patio or walkway, ask us about a dedicated heavy-debris option.
