Everything people ask before they book
Below are the questions our dispatch team hears most often from customers across Nueces, San Patricio, Aransas and Kleberg counties. If you don't see your question answered here, give us a call and we'll walk through it directly.
Part 1
Pricing & booking
What does a dumpster rental typically cost in the Corpus Christi area?
Pricing depends on container size, debris weight and delivery distance. Real, current market data for the Corpus Christi area puts most roll-off rentals somewhere between roughly $200 and $900, depending on size, weight and distance — that's a general range, not a quote. Call our dispatch team for pricing specific to your project and address.
What's typically included in a rental price?
A standard rental includes delivery, a set rental period, pickup, and a set weight allowance for the container size you choose. Going over the weight allowance or keeping the container past the agreed period can add charges, which our team will walk through before you book.
How far in advance do I need to book?
For most residential and commercial jobs, a day or two of notice is plenty. If you need a container the same day, ask our dispatch team — same-day delivery is often possible depending on your location and our route schedule that day.
Do you require a deposit or a specific payment method?
Our dispatch team will walk you through payment details when you book. Have your project address, container size and expected rental length ready when you call to get an accurate quote.
Can I extend my rental period after delivery?
Yes, in most cases. Call ahead of your original pickup date so we can adjust the schedule — extending is much easier to arrange before a truck is already routed to pick up your container.
Is there a cancellation or rescheduling fee?
Plans change, especially around weather. Call our dispatch team as early as possible if you need to reschedule — the earlier we know, the easier it is to move your delivery without any complications.
Part 2
Sizes & placement
How much driveway or yard space does a roll-off dumpster need?
As a rule of thumb, plan for a flat space roughly the length of the container plus a few extra feet for the delivery truck to maneuver and lower it safely. Our dispatch team can walk through your specific driveway or lot when you book.
Can a dumpster be placed on grass, gravel or a caliche driveway instead of pavement?
Often yes, but ground conditions matter more on unpaved surfaces — soft or wet ground can rut under the container's weight. Tell us your surface type when you book so we can plan placement and, if needed, suggest boards under the container to protect the ground.
Will a dumpster damage my driveway?
A loaded roll-off container is heavy, and on asphalt in particular, hot weather can make the surface more prone to marking. We're glad to talk through placement options like plywood or wood blocking under the container's rails to reduce that risk.
What size dumpster do most homeowners choose?
For a single-room cleanout or small project, a 10 or 15-yard container is usually enough. Larger renovations, roofing jobs and whole-house cleanouts typically call for a 20 or 30-yard container. Our team can help size it based on your project once you describe the job.
Can I move the dumpster myself once it's delivered?
No — roll-off containers should stay where they're placed at delivery. If you need it moved to a different spot on the property, call our dispatch team rather than attempting to move it yourself.
Do you drop the dumpster on the street if I don't have room on my property?
In some cases, yes, but street placement often requires a permit from the city or county depending on the town. Let our team know if driveway space is tight so we can advise on the permit process for your specific location.
Part 3
Service area
What towns does CTX Dumpster Rental deliver to?
We cover 16 communities across four Coastal Bend counties: Nueces County (Corpus Christi, Robstown, Bishop, Agua Dulce, Port Aransas, Banquete, Driscoll), San Patricio County (Portland, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Gregory, Sinton, Mathis), Aransas County (Rockport, Fulton) and Kleberg County (Kingsville).
Do you deliver across the Harbor Bridge to Portland and Ingleside?
Yes. We run regular routes across the Harbor Bridge (US-181) and the Nueces Bay Causeway to serve Portland, Ingleside, Gregory, Aransas Pass, Sinton and Mathis in San Patricio County.
Do you deliver to Port Aransas on Mustang Island?
Yes, we serve Port Aransas. Because it's a barrier-island community with a lot of vacation and rental properties, it's worth mentioning any access restrictions or ferry-adjacent timing when you book so we can plan the delivery accordingly.
How far south do you go — do you serve Kingsville?
Yes, Kingsville and the surrounding King Ranch country in Kleberg County are part of our regular service area.
Is my town too small or too far outside Corpus Christi to qualify?
If your town is one of the 16 communities in our service area — from Rockport and Fulton on the coast to Robstown, Bishop and Driscoll inland — you're covered. If you're not sure, call and our dispatch team will confirm.
Part 4
Permits & rules
Do I need a permit to have a dumpster delivered?
If the container will sit entirely on your own driveway or property, most towns in our service area don't require a permit. Placing a container on a public street typically does require one, and requirements vary by city and by county. Ask our dispatch team about your specific address.
Who is responsible for pulling the permit — me or CTX Dumpster Rental?
This varies by municipality. In some cases the property owner applies directly with the city or county; in others we can advise on the process. Bring it up when you book so we can tell you what your specific town requires.
What items are prohibited from going in the dumpster?
Hazardous materials, tires, batteries, paints, chemicals, and certain electronics generally can't go in a standard roll-off container. Ask our team about your specific debris if you're unsure — some items need separate disposal.
Is there a weight limit I need to watch for?
Yes, each container size comes with a weight allowance measured in tons. Heavy debris like concrete, roofing shingles or dirt fills the weight limit long before it fills the box visually, so ask our dispatch team which size fits a heavy-debris job.
Do local rules differ much between counties in your service area?
Placement and permit rules can vary by city and county across Nueces, San Patricio, Aransas and Kleberg counties. Our dispatch team handles bookings across the whole region regularly and can flag anything specific to your town.
Part 5
Delivery & scheduling
How quickly can you deliver a dumpster?
Same-day delivery is often available depending on your location and the day's route schedule — ask when you call. Otherwise, next-day or a scheduled date within a few days is standard.
Do you deliver on weekends?
Yes, our standard hours are Monday through Saturday, 7:00am to 7:00pm. Call ahead to confirm availability for your area and preferred day.
How does hurricane season affect delivery and pickup scheduling?
During hurricane season (June through November), demand for debris removal can rise quickly after a storm event, and delivery windows may tighten as routes get busier. Booking early when a storm is forecast, and calling promptly afterward for cleanup, both help us get to you faster.
Will traffic on SPID or the Crosstown Expressway delay my delivery?
We build delivery windows around known traffic patterns on routes like SPID and the Crosstown Expressway, so timing estimates already account for typical Corpus Christi congestion. Heavy or unusual traffic can still occasionally shift a window, and our dispatch team will call if that happens.
Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
Not necessarily, as long as we have clear placement instructions and access to the property. Many customers coordinate delivery details by phone in advance and aren't present for the drop-off itself.
